The vivo X500 Pro has reached GSMArena for review, bringing a compact 6.36-inch flagship and its large battery into focus.

The vivo X500 Pro has reached GSMArena’s office for review, giving the compact flagship an early hands-on spotlight as vivo expands the X500 family internationally. GSMArena says it has the X500 Pro, the larger X500 Pro Max and the regular X500 together, although the regular model is not currently headed to Europe.1

The X500 Pro is the smallest of the three, with a 6.36-inch display. GSMArena describes it as a substantial phone despite that compact diagonal, helped by a 6,510mAh battery and a flagship specification built around MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600 Pro chip and 12GB of RAM.1 The outlet also says the device has IP68 and IP69 protection and a camera system that sits below the Pro Max’s higher-end zoom hardware.

The global package is a little less generous than the larger model’s. According to GSMArena, the X500 Pro arrives without a charger, with a case and USB-A-to-USB-C cable in the box. The 90W charger appears to be reserved for the Pro Max in the global range, a distinction that could matter to buyers comparing the two phones.1

vivo’s own product page puts the emphasis on imaging. It lists a 50MP main camera, a 64MP ZEISS APO telephoto camera and a 50MP ultra-wide camera, alongside a 6.36-inch display, a 6,510mAh battery and OriginOS 7.2 The company also highlights 4K video features, a 200mm-equivalent telephoto extender and a Dimensity 9600 Pro platform, though these are manufacturer specifications rather than independent test results.

Our opinion

This is an early look, not a review verdict. The X500 Pro’s combination of a genuinely compact screen, a large battery and an unusually ambitious telephoto system makes it an interesting phone to watch, but the important questions remain unanswered: camera consistency, sustained performance, battery endurance and European pricing. Until GSMArena publishes its full review, the sensible takeaway is that vivo has put serious hardware into a smaller body — not that it has already proved itself the better buy.

GSMArena says more is coming in its review. That testing should clarify whether the X500 Pro’s camera hardware and battery capacity translate into a meaningful advantage over the wider X500 range, particularly for European buyers who may also have to account for the missing charger.
