Verizon offers Google Pixel 11 Pro XL with qualifying plans

Verizon is offering the Google Pixel 11 Pro XL with a qualifying new line, but the headline saving comes with Unlimited Plus or Unlimited Ultimate plan conditions.

Verizon is offering the Google Pixel 11 Pro XL at no handset cost when customers add a new line on its Unlimited Plus or Unlimited Ultimate plans, according to Android Police. The promotion does not require a trade-in, although the carrier plan and line conditions are the important part of the deal.1

The offer applies to the XL model, which starts at $1,299.99 for the 256GB version outside the promotion. Verizon's own product page lists the phone with a 6.8-inch Super Actua display, Google's Tensor G6 processor and storage options of 256GB or 512GB.2

The Pixel 11 Pro XL also has a triple rear-camera system, including a 50MP wide camera, a 48MP ultrawide and a 48MP 5x telephoto lens. Verizon lists up to 35 hours of battery life, while the product page shows the Canyon colour used in the official campaign artwork.2

The deal is tied to Verizon's qualifying Unlimited Plus and Unlimited Ultimate plans, rather than being a completely unconditional free-phone offer. That means the monthly service cost, line commitment, taxes, fees and any eligibility limits matter just as much as the headline handset saving. Customers should check the carrier's live terms before signing up.12

Our opinion

This is the sort of promotion that looks better in a headline than it does in a contract. The Pixel 11 Pro XL may be an attractive premium Android phone, but the saving only makes sense if you already want Verizon's qualifying service. Treat the handset as part of a wider mobile-plan purchase, not as a genuinely free unlocked phone.
