Verizon’s iPhone 18 Pro Deals Include $1,200 Off

Verizon’s iPhone 18 Pro preorder offers promise up to $1,200 off, plus an Apple Watch and iPad, but the fine print brings trade-ins and extra cellular lines.

Verizon has opened preorders for Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, and it is dangling two very different ways to make the eye-watering upgrade hurt a little less. One involves a trade-in. The other involves signing up for a new plan and accepting that “free” accessories rarely mean free in the normal human sense.

What’s actually going on

According to TechRadar, Verizon is offering up to $1,200 off either iPhone 18 Pro model with a trade-in and one of its myPlan unlimited plans. The offer is available to new and existing customers, and the maximum rebate is $100 higher than the usual top discount. That increase reflects the iPhone 18 Pro costing $100 more than last year’s model, according to the report.

The second route uses Verizon’s new Simplicity Pro plan. It costs $80 a month for the plan and an iPhone 18 Pro, split into $30 a month for the service and $50 for the handset. No trade-in is required. TechRadar says this option also includes an upgrade after 12 months, although the monthly device cost makes it less of a bargain than the headline might suggest.

Both promotions can also be paired with an Apple Watch and iPad. The devices themselves are described as included, but Verizon requires separate cellular lines for the accessories. In other words, the hardware may be free while the ongoing connectivity is very much not.

Why you should care

This is the familiar carrier maths trick: reduce the visible price of the phone while tying the saving to a plan, a trade-in or extra lines. That can be perfectly sensible if you already want Verizon service and were planning to trade in a qualifying phone. It becomes much less attractive if you are adding lines solely to collect an iPad and Watch that will then generate their own monthly charges.

The trade-in route looks like the cleanest option for existing Verizon customers who qualify. The Simplicity Pro bundle is simpler on paper, but its $80 monthly commitment deserves a calculator rather than a celebratory fist pump.

Our opinion

Verizon’s trade-in offer is worth a look, especially if you already use the carrier and can claim the full $1,200. The bundled Watch and iPad are only tempting if you genuinely need cellular versions. Otherwise, “included” is doing an awful lot of work in that sentence. Check the total cost over the full term before signing anything.
