XREAL 1 Pro+ raises brightness to 1,200 nits

XREAL’s 1 Pro+ AR glasses promise a brighter 1,200-nit display, AI HDR and smoother 60fps spatial 3D.

XREAL has announced the 1 Pro+, a new pair of augmented-reality glasses that raises peak brightness to 1,200 nits while keeping the company’s X1 spatial-computing chip and 57-degree field of view 12. The glasses are presented as an upgrade to the XREAL One Pro, with the biggest change aimed at making displays easier to see in brighter conditions.

The official XREAL product page lists dual Sony Micro-OLED panels, AI HDR and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also says the glasses can turn photos, video, livestreams and games into spatial 3D at up to 60 frames per second without extra software or accessories 1.

Brighter displays and new viewing modes

According to XREAL, the 1 Pro+ reaches 1,200 nits of peak brightness, up from the 700-nit figure associated with the previous One Pro model 12. The company says its AI HDR processing is designed to reveal more detail across highlights and shadows. That is a practical change for a wearable display: the glasses still need to compete with room lighting, reflections and the limits of a user’s viewing environment.

XREAL is also adding Standard, Movie and Reading modes. These are intended to tune the presentation for different kinds of content rather than forcing users to use one visual profile for everything 1. The product page continues to list the 57-degree field of view, which is one of the defining features of the One Pro line.

The built-in Real 3D engine is another area where XREAL claims an improvement. The company says it can convert ordinary 2D content into spatial 3D at up to 60fps, compared with 30fps on the previous generation 1. The glasses retain native 3DoF processing and 3ms M2P latency through the X1 chip, while 6DoF spatial anchoring requires the separately sold XREAL Eye accessory 1.

Comfort and compatibility

The 1 Pro+ keeps the platform’s focus on portable screens. XREAL says it works with handhelds, consoles and PCs, and that its Follow Mode keeps a virtual display aligned with the user’s view. The company has also redesigned the nose-pad geometry and offers two IPD sizes, with the stated aim of making the glasses more stable and comfortable across different faces 1.

XREAL’s page highlights Sound by Bose, adjustable temples, electrochromic dimming and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also states that the glasses use Sony Micro-OLED panels and X Prism optics with a 57-degree field of view 1. Android Central reports that pricing starts at $599 in the US 2. Availability and regional pricing should be checked before purchase, as the reported launch details are US-focused.

What changes from the One Pro

The headline upgrade is brightness: 1,200 nits rather than 700 nits. AI HDR, the new viewing modes and faster 2D-to-3D processing add software and display changes, while the same X1 chip and 57-degree field of view mean this is an evolution of the existing platform rather than a completely new design 12.

Our opinion

The 1 Pro+ looks like a focused refinement of XREAL’s AR glasses rather than a reinvention. More brightness could matter more in daily use than a headline feature that only appears in a specification table, while the 60fps 3D conversion and Reading mode give the display a clearer reason to exist beyond watching films. The open question is whether the higher price delivers a meaningful advantage for people who already own the One Pro; that will depend on real-world glare, comfort and the quality of XREAL’s processing. 12
