EE confirms UK pricing for iPhone Handoff

EE will include iPhone Handoff with Full Works Plus or charge £5 a month on other eligible plans, but the UK launch date remains unconfirmed.

EE has confirmed the UK pricing for Apple's iPhone Handoff feature: it will be included with the carrier's Full Works Plus plan, or cost £5 a month on other eligible plans. The feature is still coming soon, but EE says it is the first UK network to offer it.1

How iPhone Handoff works

iPhone Handoff lets customers move between two compatible iPhones while keeping the same mobile number. Calls, messages and notifications follow the user between the devices, provided both phones run iOS 27 or later and are signed in to the same Apple Account.1 Apple announced carrier support for the feature at its September keynote, with EE among the launch partners. Independent reporting has also recorded monthly charges from T-Mobile and Verizon, making EE's included Full Works Plus option the notable UK pricing detail.2

EE says Handoff will be available for £5 per month on a rolling contract for customers outside Full Works Plus. The company has not provided a firm launch date in the announcement, saying only that the service is coming soon. Apple previously said the feature would arrive by the end of 2026.12

The announcement arrives alongside EE's iPhone Duo launch. EE says pre-orders for Apple's foldable iPhone opened on 16 October ahead of a 23 October launch, with Handoff designed for people using two iPhone models rather than as a feature exclusive to the foldable device.1

Our opinion

EE's pricing makes iPhone Handoff easier to understand than Apple's launch-stage description: it is a carrier add-on, not simply a software toggle. Free access on Full Works Plus is a sensible perk, while £5 a month gives other customers a clear — if not especially cheap — route to using two phones with one number. The bigger question is whether switching between handsets proves useful enough to justify another recurring charge once the feature arrives. For now, the important caveat is that EE has announced the price but not the release date.

What happens next

EE says customers will need two compatible iPhones running iOS 27 or later, with both signed in to the same Apple Account. The company directs customers to its website for complete iPhone Duo pricing and availability details.1
