Zotac puts a desktop RTX 5080 in an 11.46-litre PC

Zotac’s MAGNUS ONE ULTRA packs a desktop RTX 5080 and 20-core Intel processor into an 11.46-litre chassis, but the cheapest model is barebones.

Zotac has released the MAGNUS ONE ULTRA EU275080C, a compact desktop built around a desktop GeForce RTX 5080 rather than the lower-power mobile graphics hardware common in small PCs. TechRadar reports that the machine has gone on sale in Japan, with barebones configurations starting at roughly ¥418,000 (about $2,647 at the report’s conversion), although buyers at that price still need to add memory, storage and an operating system. 1

The product’s headline feature is its combination of a full desktop RTX 5080 and Intel’s 20-core Core Ultra 7 265 processor in an 11.46-litre chassis. Zotac’s official product catalogue confirms the same core specification, along with support for up to 96GB of memory and an 850W internal power supply. 2 That makes it substantially more substantial than the tiny integrated-graphics boxes that usually dominate the mini-PC market.

Desktop RTX 5080 in a small chassis

The RTX 5080 configuration includes 16GB of GDDR7 memory, 10,752 CUDA cores and a 360W graphics-card rating, according to the report. The Core Ultra 7 265 runs at up to 5.3GHz and provides 20 cores for gaming, content creation and local AI workloads. Zotac positions the system around Nvidia’s Blackwell architecture, DLSS 4.5, ray tracing and 4K gaming, while the official catalogue also highlights an advertised 1,801 AI TOPS for the GPU.

The chassis measures 365.5 x 126 x 249mm and weighs about 6.34kg. It is not a pocket-sized computer, but the 11.46-litre volume is still impressively restrained for a system that houses a desktop-class graphics card and a large power supply. The design also leaves room for two memory slots, two M.2 storage slots, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, Thunderbolt 4 and dual Ethernet connections, including one 5Gbps port.

A barebones price with a catch

Zotac lists several configurations rather than one fixed specification. The entry-level model leaves out RAM, SSD storage and Windows, so the headline price is not the price of a ready-to-use gaming PC. TechRadar reports that a version with 16GB of memory, a 1TB SSD and Windows 11 Pro costs ¥522,500, while higher-memory and storage options climb as high as ¥750,200. 1

That approach gives buyers more control over the final build, but it also makes direct comparisons with complete gaming desktops less straightforward. Anyone considering the Magnus One Ultra will need to budget for the missing components, check the cost of importing it, and make sure the selected memory and storage meet the machine’s compatibility requirements.

Our opinion

The MAGNUS ONE ULTRA EU275080C is interesting because it solves a real mini-PC problem: fitting genuinely high-end desktop graphics into a much smaller enclosure than a conventional tower. Its 11.46-litre chassis and full RTX 5080 are the story, not the marketing claim that it is small. The barebones pricing is less attractive once memory, storage and Windows are added, but the format could appeal to buyers who want serious 4K gaming or local AI performance without building a full-size desktop. The important comparison will be the finished system’s price, noise and thermals against similarly powerful small-form-factor PCs.
