vivo Y600 launches with 10,000mAh battery and 120Hz AMOLED display
vivo’s Y600 packs a 10,000mAh battery, 120Hz AMOLED display and Dimensity 7300e chip, but the endurance-focused phone is currently a China launch.
vivo has launched the Y600 in China with a 10,000mAh battery, a 120Hz AMOLED display and a starting price of 1,999 yuan. Pre-orders are open now, with sales scheduled to begin on October 30, according to the company’s official specifications and launch details.1
The Y600 uses a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel with a 2,800 x 1,260 resolution, a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a claimed peak brightness of 2,000 nits. vivo lists the phone with a MediaTek Dimensity 7300e processor, up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.1
The headline feature is the single-cell 10,000mAh battery. vivo rates it at 37.30Wh with a 9,800mAh rated capacity, and lists support for 44W wired charging plus reverse charging through USB OTG. The company also claims up to 28 hours of long-form video playback under laboratory conditions, so that figure should be treated as a test result rather than a guarantee of everyday battery life.12
On the back, the Y600 has a 50-megapixel camera with autofocus, while an 8-megapixel front camera handles selfies and video calls. The phone is rated IP68 and IP69 for dust and water resistance, and includes 5G, NFC, Bluetooth 5.4 and an in-display fingerprint scanner. It runs OriginOS 6, based on Android.12
The Chinese model comes in Sapphire Blue, Diamond Gold and Obsidian Black. Pricing starts at 1,999 yuan for 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, rising to 2,499 yuan for the 8GB/256GB version. There is no announced international launch at the time of writing, so the Chinese pricing should not be treated as a UK or European retail recommendation.12
Our opinion
The Y600 is interesting for one clear reason: it prioritises endurance over thinness and flagship-style camera hardware. A 10,000mAh cell could make sense for travellers, commuters and anyone who would rather carry a heavier phone than a separate power bank. The trade-off is that the Y600 remains a China launch for now, and its real-world stamina will depend on network conditions, brightness and software optimisation. Until vivo confirms wider availability, this is a notably equipped local release rather than a phone most UK readers can simply order today.
