RedMagic’s China rollout puts the 11 Pro and 11S Pro first, with older phones and gaming tablets following through April.

RedMagic has announced a China-only rollout schedule for RedMagic OS 12, its Android 17-based software update. The RedMagic 11 Pro and 11S Pro series are first in line for December, while several older phones and gaming tablets will follow in stages through April.1

The rollout schedule

The RedMagic 11 Pro and RedMagic 11S Pro series are scheduled to receive RedMagic OS 12 in December. The RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro follows in January.

March is the busiest month in the schedule. RedMagic plans to update the RedMagic 10 Pro and 10S Pro series, the RedMagic 11 Air and the RedMagic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro then. The RedMagic 10 Air is listed for April, making it the last device in the current China timetable.1

RedMagic says OS 12 brings a redesigned interface, including a larger clock, alongside new gaming and artificial-intelligence features. The update adds an AI Magic Island, an assistant with a memory function, one-tap file transfers that work with Apple devices and a redesigned Game Space that adapts to each game’s theme.1

The software also includes an esports training area with built-in shooting and reaction mini-games. RedMagic’s X-Gravity platform moves to version 3.0, with support for cloud gaming, console streaming and playing mobile games on a larger screen.1

Global availability is still unclear

The timetable applies to China. RedMagic has not yet announced when global versions of the listed devices will receive RedMagic OS 12, so owners outside China should not treat the dates as a worldwide release promise.1

That distinction matters because update schedules can vary by region, carrier and software build. RedMagic’s global product pages currently promote the RedMagic 11 Pro with RedMagic OS 11.0, while the Corpus source identifies OS 12 as the China rollout.12

Our opinion

A staged rollout makes sense for a gaming-focused Android skin with this many device-specific features, but the China-only label is the detail owners need most. Until RedMagic publishes a global timetable, the December-to-April dates are useful context rather than a promise for international phones. The update sounds substantial; the wait for region-specific confirmation is the less glamorous part.
