iOS 27.2 beta 4 removes Apple’s redesigned Health app

Apple has pulled the redesigned Health app from iOS 27.2 beta 4, but says the larger update is still coming later this year.

Apple has removed the redesigned Health app from the fourth beta of iOS 27.2, returning the app to the version testers saw before Apple’s new health experience was introduced. 1

What changed in iOS 27.2 beta 4

MacRumors reports that the updated Health app disappeared after installing beta 4. Apple had previously told the publication that the redesigned experience was being tested in beta but was not planned for the iOS 27.2 public release. Data collected during the test remains available through the Settings app. 1

The change does not mean Apple has cancelled the redesign. Apple’s own newsroom says the new Health app is planned for later this year, with Apple Intelligence-powered health and longevity insights alongside a redesigned view of personal health data. 2

The timing suggests Apple is separating the beta test from the iOS 27.2 launch. Apple is planning to release iOS 27.2 later in October, while the redesigned Health app is still scheduled for a later update rather than this release. 12

What it means for testers

Anyone testing iOS 27.2 beta 4 should not expect to see the redesigned Health experience. The underlying test data has not vanished, but the new interface and its features are no longer present in this build.

Our opinion

This is a sensible split rather than a retreat. Apple’s redesigned Health app is a substantial experience, and keeping it out of iOS 27.2 gives the company room to test the interface and its health insights without tying that work to a public software deadline. The frustrating bit is Apple’s habit of showing ambitious features long before they are ready for everyone; at least this time, the company has been clear that the Health redesign was never promised for this release.
