Google has made Gemini 4 Argon available worldwide, opening access to its latest frontier model for developers, businesses and consumers. The rollout covers the Gemini API in AI Studio and the Gemini platform, Google Antigravity for AI Ultra subscribers, and the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search for eligible AI Ultra and Pro subscribers. 1

What is changing

Google describes Gemini 4 Argon as a model for complex, multi-step work across coding, finance, legal tasks, cybersecurity and science. It says the model ranks first on the Vals Index, although those performance claims come from Google's own announcement rather than an independent test. 1

The model launches at an introductory price of $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, with cached input tokens discounted by 95 per cent. Google says the regular price will rise to $4 per million input tokens and $20 per million output tokens after 30 November 2026. 1

Google's early results

Google says its engineers used Argon to increase agent-driven code submissions by more than 35 per cent while reducing code rollbacks by nearly a third. The company also says Argon helped complete a Chromium refactor across hundreds of files in weeks rather than months, and improved Gemma inference speed by 2.85 times on an A100 through vLLM. These are company-reported results, not independent benchmarks. 1

Who gets access

Developers can use Argon through the paid Gemini API tier in AI Studio, while enterprise customers can access it through Gemini for business, the API and Google Antigravity. Google AI Ultra and Pro subscribers can use it in the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search, with some access depending on the plan. 1

Google is also offering 10,000 researchers the highest Google Antigravity usage tier for six months. Applications are subject to eligibility, capacity and selection, so the offer is not an automatic entitlement. 1

Our opinion

The important part of this launch is not Google's familiar superlative language; it is the wider availability. Argon is moving from a model announcement into a product people can actually use, with a clear API price and separate routes for developers, businesses and subscribers. The caveat is that the strongest performance numbers are still vendor claims. Independent testing and real-world pricing after the introductory period will matter more than a leaderboard headline.
