Xgimi launches brighter 4K RS30 Pro projector in China
Xgimi's brighter 4K laser projector launches in China with 4,500 CVIA lumens, a gimbal stand and 4K gaming support.
Xgimi has launched the RS30 Pro High Brightness Edition in China, adding a substantially brighter option to its 4K laser-projector range. The new model is rated at 4,500 CVIA lumens and is listed on JD.com for CN¥7,299, roughly $1,092 at the exchange rate reported by Notebookcheck.1
What is new
The High Brightness Edition builds on the standard RS30 Pro, which was rated at 3,200 CVIA lumens, or 3,600 ISO lumens. The new projector therefore adds 1,300 CVIA lumens, an increase of about 40%, and even exceeds the 4,100-CVIA-lumen rating of the RS30 Pro Max. Xgimi has not announced a release outside China.1
Its light source is the company's QuaLas42 laser system, using 26 laser chips. A 0.47-inch DLP DMD produces a native 3840 x 2160 resolution, while a variable iris adjusts between F/2.0 and F/5.0. Xgimi lists native contrast at 4,000:1 and dynamic contrast at up to 60,000:1. Colour coverage reaches 98% of BT.2020, with Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR Vivid and IMAX Enhanced support.1
A projector built for flexible rooms
The integrated gimbal stand rotates 360 degrees horizontally and tilts 135 degrees vertically. The lens offers 1.2-1.5:1 optical zoom alongside horizontal and vertical lens shift. Xgimi's Eagle-Eye 5.0 system handles autofocus, keystone correction, screen alignment and obstacle avoidance, features intended to reduce the setup work that often comes with a large home projector.1
The projector uses a MediaTek MT9681 processor with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Its connections include two HDMI 2.1 ports, one with eARC, plus USB 3.0 and USB 2.0. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 are also included. For gaming, the specification lists 4K input at 120Hz, variable refresh rate, auto low-latency mode and AMD FreeSync Premium.1
Two 12W Harman Kardon speakers provide 24W of combined audio output, with Dolby Audio and DTS support. The unit measures 298 x 249 x 190mm, weighs 4.9kg and is rated for operating noise of 28dB or lower.1
Our opinion
The RS30 Pro High Brightness Edition is notable because its headline upgrade is practical rather than cosmetic: more light can make a projector easier to use when a room is not fully dark, while the gimbal stand and automated alignment systems address the awkward physical setup that large-screen projection normally demands. The trade-off is that the launch information currently points to China only, so international buyers have no confirmed route or pricing yet. Its 4K gaming features and 24W speaker system make it a broad home-entertainment product, but real-world brightness, noise and image quality will still need independent testing before the specification can tell the whole story.
