Sony's refurbished PS5 deal cuts a second controller to $19
A limited US PlayStation Direct promotion cuts a second refurbished DualSense controller to $19 when bought with a certified refurbished PS5.
Sony is offering a limited-time discount on its US certified-refurbished PS5 bundles, bringing an additional refurbished DualSense controller down to $19 when bought with a refurbished console, according to the current deal listing.1
The underlying prices are $499 for the refurbished PS5 Digital Edition and $549 for the refurbished disc model. Refurbished DualSense controllers normally start at $59, while selected metallic finishes cost $64. The bundle discount creates totals of $518 for the Digital Edition or $568 for the disc model before any optional controller upgrade.1
PlayStation Direct says its certified-refurbished hardware is fully tested against the same functional standards as new PlayStation products. The consoles and controllers carry a 12-month manufacturer's warranty, although Sony warns that refurbished units may show minor cosmetic imperfections. The disc console does not include a vertical stand, sold separately for $29.1
The promotion is available through the US PlayStation Direct store and Sony has not listed an end date. The official page shows the refurbished console range and standard pricing, while stock status can vary by model.2
The deal arrives ahead of Grand Theft Auto VI, scheduled for November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox consoles. That timing explains the appeal, but the offer remains a refurbished-hardware promotion rather than a bundle that includes the game.1
Our opinion
A $19 second controller is a meaningful saving when the console itself is already discounted, but the important word here is “when”. Sony’s certified-refurbished stock can move quickly, and the offer is US-only with no published end date. Check the exact total at checkout, especially if you want a disc console, premium controller colour or stand. The warranty makes this less risky than buying used, but it is still a limited deal rather than a permanent PS5 price cut.
