China’s Origin Wukong superconducting quantum computer has reportedly been used to demonstrate more efficient quantum-information routing. The headline numbers need the underlying research before they can be treated as a benchmark.

What’s actually going on

Pandaily reports 98% transmission efficiency for individual quantum routers and 93% efficiency for a two-layer network. The underlying paper or laboratory release was not retrieved during verification, and the precise meaning of “efficiency” and the experimental conditions remain unclear. The figures should remain attributed to the researchers and Pandaily.

Why you should care

Larger quantum systems will need reliable ways to move information between processors. Better routing could reduce wasted operations, but a controlled laboratory result does not automatically scale into a quantum internet.

This is a promising technical lead, not a finished breakthrough. It needs the paper, error rates and operating conditions before publication as a major result.
