iPhone 18 Pro battery sizes revealed by EU energy labels
EU energy labels reportedly reveal 4,056mAh and 5,391mAh batteries for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, with regional differences still in play.

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max have larger batteries than their predecessors, according to energy labels published under European Union regulations. The figures give us the clearest look yet at the capacity Apple has put inside its latest Pro phones, although regional hardware differences mean they are not a universal specification for every market.
TechRadar reports that the iPhone 18 Pro carries a 4,056mAh battery, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max reaches 5,391mAh. That is a reported increase of 1.45 per cent for the Pro and 11.8 per cent for the Pro Max compared with the previous generation. Apple’s own launch material also claims up to 36 hours of video playback for the Pro and 45 hours for the Pro Max.
What the EU labels reveal
The EU energy labels are useful because Apple does not always publish a conventional battery-capacity table for its phones. They turn a familiar launch promise — longer battery life — into a number that can be compared with the previous models.
The larger jump belongs to the iPhone 18 Pro Max. A capacity of 5,391mAh would give the biggest model more room to deliver the endurance Apple is promising, particularly for people using the phone for video, gaming, navigation or mobile photography. The smaller iPhone 18 Pro receives a more modest increase, but its reported 4,056mAh capacity still moves it in the right direction.
There is an important regional caveat. The labels apply to European versions, which include a physical SIM slot. The US and some other markets use eSIM-only versions, and those models may have different internal layouts or battery capacities. The European figures should therefore be treated as market-specific evidence rather than a guaranteed global specification.
The modem question is less settled
The battery figures are the clearest part of the report. A separate report cited by TechRadar says the US iPhone 18 Pro Max may use a Qualcomm modem while other versions use Apple’s C2 modem. That claim is based on code and remains less firmly established than the EU energy-label information, so it should not be treated as a confirmed specification.
A modem change could help explain why Apple’s regional models do not all have identical internal hardware. It could also affect efficiency, radio support and the space available for other components, but there is not enough public evidence yet to draw a firm conclusion about real-world battery performance.
Our opinion
The iPhone 18 Pro Max’s reported battery increase is the story here. Apple has finally paired its biggest Pro phone with a capacity that makes the promised endurance feel more tangible, rather than leaving buyers to rely solely on a playback estimate.
The iPhone 18 Pro’s smaller gain is less dramatic, but a phone does not need a headline-grabbing capacity increase to become more pleasant to use. Efficiency improvements in the chip, display and modem can matter just as much. The sensible takeaway is that the Pro Max looks like the endurance upgrade, while the standard Pro will need testing to show whether its extra capacity translates into a meaningful day-to-day improvement.
