Anthropic points Claude at financial advisers

Anthropic has launched Claude for financial advisors, wiring the assistant into custodian, portfolio, planning and CRM systems — with BlackRock, Charles Schwab and FIS already on the record.

A white stepped bar chart with a hand-drawn trend line rising above it on an orange background.

Claude for financial advisors is now on Anthropic's product pages, aimed at wealth management and financial advice firms. The pitch is narrow and deliberately unglamorous: rather than asking advisers to work inside a chatbot, Anthropic connects Claude to the systems a firm already runs — custodian, portfolio, planning and CRM platforms, plus the tools used for client communication and signing — and then offers ready-to-run workflows on top.

What the assistant is for

Anthropic lists the workflows it is targeting: client onboarding, meeting preparation and follow-up, account opening and portfolio reviews. In practice that means an adviser asks a question about a client and the assistant pulls the relevant context from the connected systems, then wraps the meeting up with notes and follow-up tasks. The connector layer is doing the work; the model is mostly assembling what the firm already stores.

Who is already attached

The launch page leans on partner statements rather than benchmarks. BlackRock says the work is part of bringing its portfolio intelligence and asset allocation expertise to more advisers. Charles Schwab frames the collaboration around registered investment advisers getting more out of the tools they already use. FIS goes further, describing an agent that compresses anti-money-laundering investigations from days to minutes, with credit decisioning, fraud prevention and deposit retention agents to follow.

Anthropic is positioning the offering as a layer that sits across a firm's existing stack rather than a replacement for any part of it, with a sales contact route for institutions and a standard trial path for individual users.

Our opinion

Every enterprise AI launch now says the same thing about meeting firms where they are, and most of them mean a plugin directory. This one is more specific: custodian and CRM connectors are where advice actually lives, and the fact that the loudest quotes come from a custodian, a brokerage and a core banking vendor rather than from model benchmarks tells you the sales fight is about data custody, not intelligence. That is also the part firms should interrogate hardest. An assistant that can read a client's whole portfolio and draft the paperwork needs a retention policy, an audit trail and a named human on the hook for whatever it writes — and none of that is in the product page. Anthropic has built the plumbing; regulators will decide whether the plumbing is allowed to carry advice.
