Anker Laptop Charger Pro adds battery care to 100W charging
Anker’s new single-port GaN charger uses a smart display and Care Mode to manage laptop battery health.
Anker has launched the Laptop Charger Pro, a single-port USB-C GaN charger that can deliver up to 100W while monitoring how a compatible laptop is charged. The product is currently listed on Anker’s US website for $59.99, with the company offering dark grey and silver finishes.
The charger’s main feature is Care Mode. According to Anker, it can recognise selected laptop and iPhone models and adjust its charging behaviour accordingly. MacBook owners can set a charging limit between 80% and 100%, with Anker claiming that the approach can extend battery lifespan by up to 40%. Auto Mode is available when faster top-ups matter more than long-term battery care.
A built-in display shows live power output, charging progress and temperature. Anker also says the display can show interactive visuals and custom wallpapers, although the more useful part is the information it puts on the charger itself rather than in a separate app.
The Laptop Charger Pro supports charging profiles up to 20V and 5A, which is enough for its 100W maximum output. It measures 62 × 34 × 55mm and weighs 193g, according to Notebookcheck’s report. Foldable prongs and an included USB-C cable are intended to make it easier to carry than a larger multi-port desktop charger.
There is a trade-off: this model has one USB-C output, whereas Anker’s older 100W smart-display charger had three ports. That makes the new product more focused on a single laptop rather than charging a whole collection of devices at once. Notebookcheck reports that Anker has not yet released it in Europe.
Our opinion
The interesting part here is not the 100W figure; plenty of compact chargers can reach that number. Care Mode gives the Laptop Charger Pro a clearer reason to exist, particularly for people who leave a MacBook plugged in at a desk. The single-port design limits its flexibility, but a visible display and laptop-specific charging controls could make it a more thoughtful everyday charger than a generic high-wattage brick.
