Editorial Policy

iHeartGeek is an independent publication. These policies apply across all three outlets.

Scoring methodology

Gaming reviews are scored out of 100. Tech and anime reviews are scored out of 10. Every score is measured against a fixed rubric published on the reviews section page. Scores are immutable after publication — if a score changes, a dated retest note is added.

Corrections

If we publish a factual error, we correct it promptly and add a correction note at the bottom of the article with the date. If a correction is significant, we update the article's updatedAt timestamp. To request a correction, see our contact page.

Sponsorship and advertising

Sponsorship is clearly labelled. Sponsored content is never published as a review. Sponsor skins may change the site accent colour and background, but never typography, layout or editorial content. See a "Sponsored" label on any page with commercial content. Affiliate links are disclosed on the article page.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made by the editorial team. Advertisers and sponsors have no influence over reviews, scores or coverage. Review units are disclosed as borrowed, provided or purchased.

Sources and attribution

News stories cite their sources. Original reporting is attributed to the writer. Wire and syndicated content is labelled as such.

Author roles

Every article identifies its writer. Features may also credit photographers. Author pages list each writer's published work and bio. See our authors page.
